Fully customised pc, workstation or notebook installation and imaging service

The basic service includes a quality inspection of the unpacked equipment, copying over of the customer’s pre-existing image file, external peripheral connection (maximum 3 peripherals, with a local printer included as a peripheral) and connection to an existing network and mapping to an existing network printer. This service is offered for desktops, notebooks and workstations.

Note: the existing image file MUST be for the same specification of PC, particularly with respect to the motherboard and the processor.

This service can be fully customised to your requirements including helping to create image files.

Transfer of existing data can be included for an extra charge – please see alternative service offering with data transfer included.

Key Service Steps

  • Verify condition of all boxes and components.
  • Verify that image file is for same specification PC
  • Verify the availability of Customer-provided physical site and power.
  • Unpack systems and components.
  • Verify serial numbers match shipping list.
  • Set-up and connect all peripherals (keyboard, monitor (1), mouse, etc.) including network cable (if applicable) to desktop / notebook / workstation.
  • Set-up and connect external peripherals (maximum of 3; local printer included as a peripheral) to desktop/notebook/workstation.
  • Power on system.
  • Enter Customer supplied TCP/IP address (if applicable) and unique machine ID.
  • Verify that the system comes up to the network login screen (if applicable).
  • Enter path to existing network printer.
  • Remove all installation packaging to a Customer-designated area within the immediate installation location or arrange with the Customer for Customer removal.
  • Carry out customised work as specified prior to site visit.
  • Customer Responsibilities

It is the Customer’s responsibilities to:

  • Carefully review this statement of work for the installation services purchased.
  • Ensure that their image file is for the same specification of PC. If in doubt, please use the normal installation option or phone for a customised quote to create a compliant image file. The image file must allow dynamic IP addressing.
  • Ensure that adequate power outlets and cabling are suitably located, installed and tested prior to the installation.
  • Ensure that environmental/technical prerequisites have been met.
  • Ensure all equipment required for the installation is placed in the immediate area.
  • Designate an area in the same building where the installer should place rubbish.
  • Provide the installer with any necessary configuration information, network passwords, a unique machine ID etc to complete the installation.
  • Other reasonable actions to enable the service to be satisfactorily completed Carefully review this statement of work for the installation services purchased.

Service Exclusions – unless otherwise specified

  • This service does not include the creation of an image file or the any tailoring or attempts to make a new PC work with an image file for a different specification of PC
  • This service does not include network cabling (excluding cable from system to network point) or any environmental or power related activities.
  • Connection of peripherals refers to plugging components into the new system and loading Customer supplied drivers. It does not involve configuring the peripherals (unless configuration of a peripheral has been purchased as a service).
  • This service does not include installation of products nor application activity other than as specifically noted.
