Telephone Systems
We supply and support telephone systems and data networking throughout Yorkshire to customers of all shapes and sizes.
The telecommunications industry has seen many changes over the last few years, with the transition from analogue to digital telephone systems, the introduction of wireless communications, computer telephony integration and the convergence of voice and data on IP networks.
ACS is at the forefront of recent developments and the opportunities they bring. As the features of telephone systems have increased, the buying process has inevitably become more involved.
It is no longer enough to select a phone system based on how many people you expect to be employing in 5 years time. You now need to also consider how closely you want to integrate the IT and phone systems, how sophisticated a call centre you will require, whether people will work from home or the office and many other questions.
Here at ACS we have the knowledge and expertise to talk you through the options available and find the best solution for your business now and into the future. So whether it's a voice or a data solution or the convergence of the two, ACS can help you bring the world of communication closer together.

Voice & Data Cabling Solutions
A structured cabling system provides a backbone for office communications. It connects people by providing connections around a building.
Telecommunications Services, Voice and Computer Networks, are all connected into a patch panel. Devices such as printers, wireless access points and faxes, can then be ‘plugged into’ the network to deliver the required service wherever it’s needed around your premises.
CAT5e
Cat5e has now taken over from the old Cat5 standard. This type of cabling is now used in the vast majority of office installations. It is suitable for Voice, Data, and the modern converged technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP). Most businesses decide that even if they don’t use this technology now they will future proof their decisions by ensuring that any installation is ‘VoIP enabled’.
FIBRE
Fibre cabling has traditionally been considered only for backbone connectivity but with higher bandwidth requirements continually increasing the cost of copper cabling, fibre is quickly becoming a cost effective cabling medium.
VOICE CABLE
Often recognised as standard white ‘BT type’ Voice cabling is used for phones, faxes etc. It does not support any of the modern converged technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP), which requires structured cabling.
NGN Numbers
Doncaster Telecom's non-geographic number services allow companies to have non-geographic numbers for their telephone and fax numbers. These numbers are portable so should you ever move offices these numbers can move with you.
Non-geographic numbers include
• 0800/0808 free phone numbers
• 0845 local call numbers
• 0870 national rate numbers
• 0871 special rate numbers
* Please note that the rebates payable for these numbers are currently being reviewed by Otcom. As a result the rebates may be subject to change in the future which will result in us having to review our cost and pricing policy at that time.
ACS (uk) Ltd will FREE of charge
• Offer you a selection of numbers to choose from
• Set up your account and allocate your company the selected non-geographic numbers
• Point these to your existing telephone numbers.
• Re-point the non-geographic number to the new telephone number should you move premises.
• Provide monthly itemised data and billing (minimum invoice value £10)
The main advantages of using NGN numbers are?
• Reduced call costs for your existing and potentially new customers
• Monitor responses to advertising and direct mail campaigns
• Enables you to give dedicated numbers to your most valuable customers and monitor their call behaviour.
